Physician Payment Sunshine Act Seminar for Medical Devices
November 14, 2012 — Washington, DC, AdvaMed Headquarters
The Physician Payment Sunshine Act requires medical technology manufacturers operating in the U.S. to comply with specific transparency requirements. The Sunshine Act does not restrict industry-physician collaboration or interactions, or prohibit payments or transfers of value. Rather, it requires tracking and reporting of payments and transfers of value that result from these interactions. The objective of this law is to provide patients with enhanced transparency into the relationships their health care providers have with life science manufacturers, including medical technology companies. The Sunshine Law requires companies to track payments and transfers of value. The government must post that data on a public searchable government-maintained website.
Discuss the implementation issues and challenges of interacting with customers during the statutory review period. Achieve a better understanding of identifying and tracking payments to covered recipients. Obtain step-by-step guidance on classifying payment types such as education expenses, consultant fees, and meals & travel. Learn more about disclosure reporting. Network with industry experts and leaders who will be available to discuss your tracking systems, reporting methods, review processes, and will provide guidance on potential solutions to your compliance challenges.
